BIOGRAPHY
Şive Neşe Baydar was born in Istanbul in 1967. She completed his undergraduate education at Mimar Sinan University, Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Painting in 1991 and her master's degree at Istanbul Technical University Visual Environmental Arts Program in 1995. In 2003, she received her proficiency degree in art from Mimar Sinan University, Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Painting. Since 1996, she has worked as a faculty member in different positions at Süleyman Demirel University, Mimar Sinan University and Sakarya University Fine Arts Faculties, respectively.
ARTIST STATEMENT
The artist has been investigating visible reality itself and the relationships at different levels that make it possible for a long time. She tries to find different modes of pictorial expression for these. For the artist, what is visible constitutes the starting point. Starting from this starting point, she tries to focus on objects, the relationships between objects, the interaction between people and objects, and the manifestations of interacting relationships. Such an effort often forces me into a dialectical reading of levels such as reality, shadow, reflection, illusion, belief, assumption, dream, daydream, daydream, hallucination. Therefore, instead of focusing on the conventional side of official mostly visible reality; she aims to bring the multiplicity of reality to the surface through mediators such as water, forest, cloud, light, night, day and darkness. The things she uses most while achieving her goal are moves that create breaks, reflections, deletions, omissions, emphases and ambiguities.
