BAŞAK CANSU GÜVENKAYA
2D, 3DBaşak Cansu Güvenkaya (Istanbul, 1991), who received her undergraduate education at the Sculpture Department of Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University, continued her education at the art school Weissensee Kunsthochschule in Berlin for a while as part of the student exchange program she participated in in 2013. In 2016, he completed his department first and won the Sakıp Sabancı Art Award.
She completed his master's degree in Sculpture at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University in 2019. She held her first solo exhibition at the Istanbul Museum of Graphic Arts, IMOGA in 2020. Apart from Turkey, her works were also exhibited in Australia, Germany, the United Nations, Canada and Italy. Nowadays, Güvenkaya continues her productions in his studio in London.
Başak Cansu Güvenkaya realizes that it is not the perfect place to live by feeling of trust when confronted with the fear and future anxiety that poses a threat to its existence as an artist, through a journey through the search of a place where he can feel his own. She decides that she can only create this world.
The artist, who sees loneliness and fear as a situation where the age of our age becomes more individualized in the name of freedom, and can not escape from falling into it. She offers a colorful and playful way to combat this situation.
