CANSU KORKMAZ
2DCansu Korkmaz, a Turkish-born visual artist, lives and works in Brooklyn. Her artwork explores themes of intimacy, memory, and identity. Korkmaz's work has been featured in various venues, including UFAT-Signals and Systems, ALAN Istanbul, BAU Gallery, and "The Lives of Others" at the International Photography Festival. Other notable exhibitions include the Daire Gallery, Les Rencontres D'Arles - On the Frontiers of Freedom, Mixer Gallery, and the Bridge and Tunnel Gallery in New York. She also participated in a personal documentary workshop with Arja Hyytiainen at SALT.
Her solo exhibitions include "Mini Çarsi - Mini Market" at The Polygon Shooting Gallery in Turkey and "Quite a While" at the SOHO20 Gallery in New York. Korkmaz has participated in and been selected for several artist residencies, including Arquetopia in Mexico, the School of Visual Arts, and Residency Unlimited in New York. At Residency Unlimited and the School of Visual Arts residency, she finalized her latest long-term projects, "KINA" and "Quite a While," which were exhibited at Equity Gallery and Gramercy Gallery in New York.
Cansu Korkmaz has written four books: "Quite a While," "SILENCE," "Schadenfreude," and "Garip Bir Enerjin Var." Her work has been featured in various publications, including Musee Magazine, Art Unlimited, Milliyet, Art Critical, Voice of America, VATAN, The Guide Istanbul, Orta Format, Bantmag, and Elele.
