DEFNE ALOK
2DDefne Alok (Istanbul, 2001), who completed her high school education at Adıgüzel Fine Arts High School Painting Department, continues her undergraduate education at Yeditepe University, Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Plastic Arts and Painting. She opened her first group exhibition in 2021 with the exhibition "Remnant" in Arkakapı, Yalova. Afterwards, her works were exhibited in various group exhibitions in Istanbul. Her first magazine appearance was in the 2nd issue of "Pankart Magazine".
While Defne Alok radically changes her style as a result of her mental illness, she transfers the conflicts within herself due to the illnesses she experiences to paper and canvas. She adds the aesthetic perception created by her own internal conflicts to his existence. Trying to confront the mood patterns caused by borderline disorder, the artist began to deal with it with mediums such as charcoal, soft wax and acrylic.
