3DGizem Akgönül (Istanbul, 1985), after studying Industrial Design in Toronto, returned to Istanbul and focused on philosophy and art practice.
While the artist has been developing her practice with different materials and disciplines for six years, she has also travelled to many different regions to learn the history of the land and traditional techniques. Gizem Akgönül's works focus on art and design; It explores a utopian civilization through objects that question their reflections on contemporary culture.
The artist invites the viewer to think about this imaginary civilization she has constructed through the clues she gives with each piece and to create stories around it.
