LAL PEKİN
3DLal Pekin (1990, Istanbul) took her first step into art by taking training on painting, drawing and ceramics in various workshops at home and abroad during her high school years. While she felt quite alienated in this world that she often found depressing, the workshop she created became a shelter for her and a space where she discovered the fundamental forces of creation and transformation.
The quest in her works uses complex and experimental techniques with materials found in nature and pushes the limits of her primary material; transforming into visual metaphors symbolizing the turbulent path to rediscovering and embracing our essence. In each piece, an inner connection is created with nature and the essence of our being.
While her works, which gently remind us with their calm presence that there is always an opportunity for clarity and connection in the midst of complexity, are exhibited in various exhibitions and art/design shops at home and abroad, the artist continues her productions in her studio in Beyoğlu, Istanbul.
In this overwhelming world where she often found herself a stranger, Lal Pekin made art a refuge and created a space in her own workshop where she discovered the fundamental forces of creation and transformation. Her works; It acts as a bridge between the overwhelming intricacies of the world and the natural simplicity within us. With their calm presence, the pieces are a gentle reminder that in the midst of complexity there is always an opportunity for clarity and connection.
Works that push the limits of its main material, clay, and are created with materials found in nature and experimental techniques, become visual metaphors that symbolize the complex journey towards rediscovering and embracing the essence. In each piece, there is an inherent connection to the land and our existence.
Through her art, she invites the viewer to the deceptive state of existence and to find solace in her own stories. The pieces invite introspection and reflection by distilling complex emotions into concrete expressions of truth. Encapsulating the essence of the human experience and intertwined relationship with the natural world, artworks serve as catalysts for deep connection.
