PINAR BİRİM
2DPınar Birim (Istanbul, 1978) spent most of her childhood in the street and skateboard culture. While the artist was receiving his undergraduate education at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University, she was also experimenting with screen printing and various printing techniques and designing her group's works and posters. After completing her education, his interest in art and design took her to London; The artist received her master's degree in Interactive Digital Media at Ravensbourne College. This education also encouraged her to make experimental and creative experiments with technology while creating her installations.
Pınar Birim, who lived in London for six years, returned to Istanbul after collaborating with many artists and designers and taking part in various exhibitions. Here, she worked with local and foreign clients in agencies where she served as art director. As a result of her successes, she received the Young Artist of the Year Award from the Graphic Designers Professional Association at the age of 29. The artist's works are the exact opposite of the styles that have stood out in the design scene she has been in for years. This contrast also reflects the artist's approach to the country in which she was born; Conflict and chaos are always present. However, Istanbul, with its coincidental beauties spread all over the Bosphorus, which brings together the European and Asian continents, is an endless source of inspiration for the artist. Pınar Birim sees art as much more valuable than the text; She expresses herself much better with pictures than with text.
